My first aerial shoot was for a national Chrysler spot in 1988. Some of my clients since then include Volkswagen, Toyota, Hummer, several TV network affiliates, museums, nuclear facilities, manufacturing plants, feature films and television shows.
The secret to getting good aerial shots is the working relationship and coordination between the aerial operator and the camera ship pilot. The more experience that both of them have, especially working together, results in getting better shots in a shorter period of time. Using an experienced operator and pilot has the added benefit of saving money.
